Isabelle Le Minh
For the past fifteen years, Isabelle Le Minh has explored the essence and limits of photography, reactivating its history, techniques and theories. Using quotation or diversion, his works play with words, signs and cultural codes, in a resolutely conceptual vein. Through protean and polysemous work, she questions the nature of photography but also the notion of originality in a world dominated by images. In the 90s, Isabelle Le Minh left a job as a patent engineer in Berlin to devote herself to photography. Having graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in Arles in 1996, she is a professor at the Haute École des Arts du Rhin in Strasbourg. Winner of the ADAGP Artist's Book Revelation Prize in 2016 and resident of Villa Kujoyama in 2019, she has exhibited in particular at the Mois de la photo in Montreal, at the Rencontres d'Arles, at Paris Photo, at the Center photographique d'Île-de-France, at the CRP (Centre regional de la photographie) in Douchy–les-Mines, at the FRAC (Fonds régionale d’art contemporaine), Normandie Rouen, at the Museum of Fine Arts in Mulhouse, at the Goethe Institut in Paris, at the Ehrhardt Foundation in Berlin and at the MOCAK (Museum of Contemporary Art) in Krakow. She is represented by Galerie Christophe Gaillard.
