Antonio Wellington de Oliveira Junior received an M.A. in Social Communication from the Universidade Federal do Ceará (1997), and a Ph.D. (2001) in Communication and Semiotics from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP). He is currently adjunct professor at the Institute of Culture and Art at the Universidade Federal do Ceará. He is director of the Body, Communication and Arts Research Laboratory (Licca http://liccaufc.blogspot.com.br), of the Post Graduation Program in Communication at the Universidade Federal do Ceará. A visual artist and performer, he has experience in communication, with an emphasis on performance and acting, including the following topics: body arts, semiotics and glossolalia.

By exploring performance concepts, this article seeks to deepen and systematize epistemological, aesthetic, and technical matters related to the interfaces between communication, education and art. To this end, it calls upon transdisciplinary methodologies implicated in phenomenological research. It further seeks the ongoing integration between theoretical and technical experiences, as well as scientific methods and creative artistic processes.
