Guto Brinholi
Brazilian born Gustavo Brinholi studied first classical guitar and then double bass in Brazil. Since very young, Brinholi composed jazz and Brazilian music, his first musical influences. At age 17, studying jazz music at UNICAMP (Campinas University-Brazil) Brinholi had his first contacts with classical music and started composing music for string quartet and chamber music. At this time, Brinholi began to conduct his own music. Since 2009, he lives in Munich, where he studied composition by Moritz Eggert, Pascal Dusapin, and Wolfgang Rihm. In 2010, Brinholi joined the Baltic Youth Philharmonic, studying composition by Daniel Schnyder. From 2011 on, Brinholi started to study conducting by Prof. Guido Johannes Rumstadt (Nurnberg) and had master classes by Isaac Karabtchevsky (2012/13/14). In 2012, he conducted his music in Norway, Check Republic and Germany. In Brazil, Brinholi made his debut as a conductor with Sorocaba Symphony Orchestra, conducting Beethoven, Villa Lobos and his own music. In September 2013, he made his debut in Munich, conducting the Diaspora Ensemble playing Contemporary Brazilian Music by Germany- based musicians. In October 2013 he conducted at the Rio de Janeiro`s Biennale. In January 2014, Brinholi conducted concerts of the Diaspora Ensemble in Brazil, with music composed by Armando Lobo, Daniel Moreira, Felipe Lara and Brinholi himself. Gustavo Brinholi is M.A. in Composition (Musikhochschule Nurnberg).
